It has two runways: 113\/293 with a length of 2433m, and 038\/218 with a length of 2315m.<\/p>\n<p>The base is used exclusively by the Arm\u00e9e de l&#8217;air and hosts two operational units:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strike Squadron 1\/4 Dauphin\u00e9<\/li>\n<li>Strike Squadron 2\/4 La Fayette<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Both are equipped with the Mirage 2000N and can be deployed in conventional strike and nuclear deterrence missions, carrying the medium-range Air-Sol Moyenne Port\u00e9e ASMP mssiles for the latter.<\/p>\n<p>The two units are supported by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DAMS (D\u00e9p\u00f4t atelier munitions sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es), Specialised Ammunition Storage, responsible for the nuclear strike alert facilities on the base.<\/li>\n<li>Tactical Instruction Centre 00.339 Aquitaine, in charge of directing the strike squadrons in their low-altitude all-weather mission.<\/li>\n<li>Air Defence squadron 04.950 Servance, responsible for anti aircraft defence.<\/li>\n<li>Fusiliers Commandos de l&#8217;Air, responsible for security and ground defence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Luxeuil (French: Base a\u00e9rienne 116 Luxeuil Saint-Sauveur or BA 116) (ICAO: LFSX) is a medium size air base located at 47\u00b046\u203259\u2033N 006\u00b021\u203251\u2033E, near Luxeuil-les-Bains in the Franche-Comt\u00e9 region of France.
